Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using the Hiered platform (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms at any time — continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Hiered is currently in beta. Features may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly. We appreciate your patience and feedback as we continue to build.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Hiered. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate. If you are using Hiered on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.
  • You must notify us immediately at support@hiered.net if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information on your profile or any organization page
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users
  • Use the platform to send spam, unsolicited messages, or bulk commercial outreach
  • Scrape, crawl, or automatically collect data from the platform without written permission
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or circumvent any security feature of the Service
  • Impersonate another person or organization
  • Use search or export features to build unauthorized recruiting databases or contact users outside the platform
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation

5. Organizations

Organization admins are responsible for the content published under their organization page, including member rosters, event listings, hierarchy charts, succession plans, alumni spotlights, and descriptions. Hiered may remove or unpublish organizations that violate these Terms or receive substantiated reports of harmful content. Verified badge status may be revoked at our discretion.

6. Recruiters

Recruiter accounts are intended for legitimate hiring professionals. By using recruiter features, you agree to contact candidates only through platform-provided channels, to respect candidate privacy settings, and to accurately represent your company and opportunities. Misuse of recruiter tools — including bulk outreach, deceptive job postings, or unauthorized data harvesting — will result in account termination.

7. Content you post

You retain ownership of content you post to Hiered. By posting, you grant Hiered a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, store, and distribute that content as necessary to operate the Service. You represent that you have the right to post the content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights. This includes resumes, profile information, event listings, organization descriptions, hierarchy data, alumni spotlights, and any private notes you save within the platform.

We may remove any content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to the community.

8. Paid plans and billing

  • Recruiter Premium ($39/month) is billed monthly through Stripe. Org Premium ($49/year) is billed annually. Prices are listed at checkout.
  • All payments are final. Refunds are issued only at our discretion.
  • Canceling a subscription takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to affected subscribers.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the platform will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. Hiered does not endorse or verify the accuracy of user-submitted content, including resumes, job postings, or organizational affiliations.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hiered and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits or data — arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hiered and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, your content, or your use of the Service.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may close your account at any time by contacting support@hiered.net. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any prepaid fees.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan.
